Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey Back In Ghana ''Black Stars'' National Squad.

USA-based goalkeeper, Adam Kwarasey, is back in Ghana's national squad for their forthcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mozambique following a self-imposed exile.

28-year-old Kwarasey had been absent from the Black Stars since their participation at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Ghana coach Avram Grant convinced the shot-stopper - who plays for MLS side Portland Timbers - to return to the national set-up ahead of their matches against the Mambas later this month.

Captain Asamoah Gyan is also in the squad as is Mubarak Wakaso.

But Swansea forward Andre Ayew is not included due to an ankle injury.

Ghana are top of Group H with a maximum six points from their opening two games.

The Black Stars host Mozambique on 24 March in Accra before playing the return leg in Maputo four days later.

33 year old Nicki Minaj who covered the April issue of Nylon magazine talked about her relationship with boyfriend 28 year old Meek Mill, insisting they are not engaged yet. She said:

Zimbabwe To 'Ban' Child Marriages.

Zimbabwe will make it an offence for parents to reach a customary marriage arrangement on behalf of children below the age of 18 years, Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said, the state-owned Herald newspaper reports. 

Parents would also be banned from agreeing to a bride price before their children turn 18, he added. 

The government would not wait for a Constitutional Court ruling outlawing child marriages, and had already identified legislation which needed to be changed, Mr Mnangagwa is quoted as saying. 

A clause in the the Marriage Act, allowing for the marriage of minors with the consent of their guardians or a court, would be repealed, he said.

The Customary Act, which was silent on child marriages, would be amended to include a clause prohibiting it, the vice-president added.

''Are You Not Afraid To Just Kind Of Wake Up And See A Lion Staring At You?''- An American Asks A Zimbabwean Human Rights Lawyer.

Yesterday, March 15, a Zimbabwean human rights lawyer & General Secretary, World YWCA, Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda was at a hotel reception in the U.S when a man asked her the ignorant questions. For over twenty years, Mrs Gumbonzvanda (pictured with Hollywood actress, Ashley Judd) has been working on issues of women and children's human rights with a special focus on crisis countries. This is what she shared on her Facebook page...

"Okay, I was taken aback and am kind of angry and sad at ignorance, but more so at the perception of Africa. I was collecting my keys at the hotel reception and this guys said, aaah, you are from Africa, from Zimbabwe right? I said yes. He was holding my passport. Then he went on to say with true conviction "wow, how do you live with giraffes and the lions? Are you not afraid to just kind of wake up and see a lion staring at you?" I looked at him, and said no am not afraid. we are all part of nature. I am still nursing some sad feeling about how many people in this United States of America do not really know about Africa and have warped ideas. Or its maybe only this single guy. Ummm"

Victory For Botswana Gay Rights Group.

Botswana's highest court has rejected an attempt by the government to ban a gay rights lobby group, in a rare victory for gay rights campaigners on the continent, Reuters news agency reports. 

The Court of Appeal upheld a 2014 judgement of  a lower court that the Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals of Botswana (LEGAGIBO) group should be allowed to register and campaign for changes in anti-gay legislation.   

"It is clear that the government's decision (to seek the ban) interferes in the most fundamental way with the respondents' right to form an association to protect and promote their interest," Judge Ian Kirby said.  

Homosexual acts are illegal in Botswana.

Scientists Give Explanation Of Bermuda Triangle Mystery.

For many decades, the Bermuda Triangle has become a mysterious location off the coast of the Florida peninsula where various ships and planes have reportedly gone missing.

While the U.S. government and other international maritime agencies do not recognize the name, some people claim the missing ships and aircraft are caused by extraterrestrial activity in the region.

However, a new discovery may finally shed light to the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. According to a report, several scientists found giant craters on the seabed near the coast of Norway.

The experts claim that these craters are indications that something exploded in the area, and that methane bubbles may have caused these explosions.

 In the report, these methane bubbles accumulate under the sea floor sediments, and then explode, burst, or “pop” from the seabed to the water surface.

“The crater area is likely to represent one of the largest hotspots for shallow marine methane release in the Arctic,” said in the report.

The craters reportedly measure up to 800 meters wide and about 45 meters deep.

Details about the discovery will be presented at the European Geosciences Union, and experts will discuss whether these methane bubbles are a threat to ships.

Reports also claims that such phenomenon may have something to do with the bizarre occurrences within the Bermuda Triangle. For many years, the only scientific explanation that experts could provide is the area’s turbulent weather and seas.

Interestingly, Russian scientist Igor Yeltsov already stated last year that the “mysteries” of the Bermuda Triangle may be the result of gas hydrate reactions. Yeltsov explained that this kind of occurrence can trigger an avalanche or even a nuclear reaction, where huge amounts of gas are produced.

The term Bermuda Triangle was first coined by Vincent Gaddis in 1964, when he described it as a place where various ships and aircraft mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
