Herioc 11-Year-Old Sacrifices Himself To Save His Sister's Life.

An 11-year-old boy is being hailed as a hero after saving his sister from an oncoming vehicle. Unfortunately for La’Darious Wylie, he’ll never know how his town plans for honor him, as he lost his life in the brave act.
La’Darious and his seven-year-old sister, Sha’Vonta, were at the bus stop when an out-of-control vehicle came careening around the corner. La’Darious pushed his sister out of the way, putting himself right in the car’s path.
The incident took place in Chester, South Carolina on October 27th. Sha’Vonta told police that by the time she got up, the car that had hit her brother was already gone. La’Darious died the next day at Carolinas Medical Center.
Police say that Michelle Johnson, the 57-year-old driver of the car, did not stop to help and did not call the authorities. She is being charged with felony hit and run resulting in death. She was released on $25,000 bail, but if convicted will face a sentence of 25 years in jail.
The heroic act has some Chester residents pushing for the city’s Brooklyn Park to be renamed in La’Darious’s honor. The park is just down the street from where the accident took place.
Many believe that the renaming would be a fitting way to honor the young boy, who played at the park his whole life.
They’re raising money to give new life to the park in La’Darious’s name, hoping to turn it into a recreation center so that the kids won’t have to play outside all the time.
